Leadership

Elliott Crutchfield
Founder & CEO, CrutchCap
Elliott Crutchfield is the founder and CEO of CrutchCap, an investment and operating firm he established following his direct leadership of several companies as CEO. After beginning his career in finance, he purchased his first company in 1997 at the age of 29 – an operationally and financially challenged commercial airline service business. After serving as CEO of four additional companies, Crutchfield founded CrutchCap and began to take a more divesified approach.

Prior to founding CrutchCap, Crutchfield held positions at Security Capital Group, a real estate investment firm, and NationsBank Corporation (now Bank of America), where he built a strong foundation in finance, strategic planning and corporate development.

In his role with CrutchCap, Crutchfield takes an active role in supporting portfolio companies, often stepping in as an operating partner or board member to help drive growth and value creation. He frequently collaborates with private equity firms and business owners, providing guidance that spans operational improvement, leadership development and strategic restructuring. His leadership style includes a CEO’s mindset, a coach’s insight and an investor’s discipline.

Beyond his professional endeavors, Crutchfield is committed to civic and philanthropic engagement. He has served on the board of a number of non-profit organizations including:

• The Fletcher School (Chair)
• The Asheville School
• USO of North Carolina (Chair)
• United Way of Central Carolinas
• Charlotte Emergency Housing

He is a member of Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO).

Crutchfield graduated from the Asheville School, holds a BA in Economics from Davidson College and an MBA from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He and his wife Lynn have four grown children and reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.
